The Sound-walk
In the last assignment I was fortunate enough to visit a nearby forest trail with my friend. Unlike the city this was a suburban area.
The neighborhood surrounding the forest was a quiet community, quiet enough where we can hear our own equipment banging on
each other, our shoes hitting the cement as we walk, and as we got closer to the forest, crickets chirping.

Although we filmed on the trail we did it in silence because we wanted to capture everything. From the planes flying by, the leaves
on the floor crunching as we walk, the crickets, and bugs buzzing around our heads. The walk was pretty therapeutic as you could
clear your mind, breathe “fresher” air and just tone out everything and enjoy nature.

The most satisfying thing to me was probably stepping on the leaves. It has a consistent sound every time you take a step.
Much like fresh snow and how that has a satisfying crunch sound. The crickets chirping remind you that you are in a place
that is filled with life and adds to the ambiance which is then someone ruined by a plane flying by but then quickly goes back
to before it was disturbed.
There was not much going on in the forest but sounds that you normally don't notice become enhanced.
For example a camera shutter clicking. It became louder than if I were to take a picture in the city.
The same can go for walking on the leaves. If I were to walk on leaves in central park the sounds would kind of get muffled
or overtaken by the city ambiance.

But that is what I experienced on this walk in the forest.
